I began counselling as a trainee in a crisis counselling service in 1997. During this time, I developed a real motivation to work within this area which has continued to strengthen since qualifying as a professional counsellor in 2000. I gained a Diploma and post graduate Diploma in Integrative counselling from Leeds University and became a member of the British Association of Counsellors and Psychotherapists. I later gained a qualification in British Sign Language to level 2 and also attended numerous courses including Solution Focused Brief Therapy, Transactional Analysis and Group Therapy.
I now have over twenty years’ experience working as a counsellor. I have gained significant experience helping individuals come to terms with a wide variety of issues including crisis situations such as relationship problems and domestic abuse as well as sexual abuse and work related difficulties. I strongly believe that one size does not fit all and have found working in an integrative and person centred way allows me to best approach the needs of the people I see.
