What is Hypnotherapy?
Hypnotherapy is taking someone into a dream state but without actually going to sleep, merely a trance like state. This is something that we all do without even knowing about it, many of us drive along a familiar route to find that we have arrived at our destination without being conscious of the journey there. This is a similar process although with Hypnotherapy you are the one in control at all times, Hypnotherapy only strives to help you unlock an often unused self-power. The therapist does not have power over your mind, they merely make suggestions along the way that help YOU CONTROL your own thoughts and behaviours. Being in this dream like state is a pleasant and relaxing experience and one that can ultimately help you gain what you want out of your life.
What can Hypnosis help with?
As with any therapy, hypnotherapy does not proclaim or offer a guarantee to cure. Although, it may help with many aspects of the healing process, relieving multiple symptoms and indeed, the treatment may alleviate the problem altogether. Hypnosis can help with many issues and is a positive tool for lasting changes in your life, this could be for something like, Anger Issues, Anxiety, Bereavement, Blushing, Chronic Fatigue, Confidence Issues, Driving Tests, Exams, Insomnia, IBS, Memory, Obesity, OCD, Panic Attacks, Phobias, Stopping Smoking or Stress, although the list is infinite to what hypnotherapy can help with.
(note: With certain medical problems, it may be necessary to contact your GP to agree the best way forward).
How many sessions will be required?
Hypnotherapy is a versatile and extremely effective therapy, and as such, can often take fewer sessions to achieve the desired results than commonly perceived. However, this does vary from person to person, depending on the individual and the problem they wish to work on. Usually, the first session takes 90 minutes and includes a detailed consultation.
